MICHAEL SEGAL Keep Hope Alive! He doesn't want to be perceived as handicapped, disabled, limited or as a hero - a triumphant survivor of tragedy perhaps. After being shot in the head as an innocent bystander to a robbery, Michael Segal defied all odds and very few people thought he would survive. After much pain and time in rehab, he returned to UT where he graduated with many honors. Michael went on to graduate school where he obtained a Masters of Social Work degree and married his high school sweetheart, Sharon. He has devoted his life to showing that lives can be changed through hard work and positive thinking. That is a key element of his numerous presentations where participants find themselves inspired and motivated. Mike works primarily with families and patients in the Neuro Trauma Intensive Care Unit (NTICU). He's also a contributing author for the Chicken Soup Books and inspirational speaker sharing his recipes for recovery and happiness. Prior to her recent role as Maggie the housekeeper on Comedy Central's That's My Bush, MARCIA WALLACE was best known for her Emmy award winning role as Bart's teacher, Mrs. Krabappel, on The Simpsons, and as Carol Kester on The Bob Newhart Show. She reprised that role when she guest starred as Murphy Brown's 66th secretary, for which she received an Emmy nomination. She reunited with Murphy as a member of her breast cancer support group, with her old boss on George and Leo and appeared on Seventh Heaven and Providence. Marcia's voice has also been heard on several animated series, films and commercials. Marcia successfully battled breast cancer in 1985 and she frequently lectures on the emotional and clinical tribulations of fighting breast cancer, promoting early detection and low-cost mammography. She also speaks on the importance of humor and laughter when facing life's challenges.
